Sparrows West projects- Mosaic coasters
Each student crafted an individual mosaic coaster, giving them a hands-on opportunity to explore this timeless art form. Through this project, students engaged in a creative and meaningful process, learning about Greek mythology while developing artistic skills.
We were thrilled to share these unique and handcrafted pieces!
There is only one coaster made by each student.

Late Over 2025 with Teachers Laura, Elizabeth, Alex, Rachel, Ruth and Ilia
Twenty-five students will have the opportunity to make memories with Teachers Laura, Elizabeth, Alex, Rachel, Ruth and Ilia at the fourth annual “Late-Over” party at the Heron Creek campus! A fun evening for students to have pizza and snacks; go on a jewel hunt, make tye-dye t-shirts; participate in other fun activities, and end the evening with popcorn and a kid-friendly movie on the Lodge side of campus. Students are welcome to bring pajamas to change into for the movie. This is a kids only event.

Head of School for the Day
Shadow Leif, our Head of School, as he goes about his work for a day. Learn what is involved in being Head of School including welcoming students at drop-off, join him in activities like visiting classrooms, interacting with students at recess, and having lunch together. Depending on the day, it might include helping to lead the Wednesday Community Meeting. Every day is different and interesting for our Head of School, so who knows what might be asked of this student on their shadow day!

April 27th - Portland Secret Dining Society catered Marylhurst dinner by Tara Lynch
Portland Secret Dining Society is an adventurous pop up dinner club where taste, texture, sight and sound uniquely come together in amazing places. We are holding an exclusive Marylhurst pop-up dinner at a local Oregon City Farm. Dining under their 100+ year old oak trees, or within their beautiful barn. This event is created around a bit of mystery, you’ll only know the general location before buying your ticket, after purchase a final hint will be given in the form of nearby lodging.
It won’t be until 48 hours before, that the actual event address is disclosed, everything else will remain a secret.
Dinner location will transform beautiful surroundings into a surreal dinner setting. You’ll slowly dine on a locally sourced farm to table 6 course meal, thought up to match the season, place and theme. All while enjoying wine paired for each course. As the evening extends you’ll savor the beautiful flavors, soft music and conversation with your fellow Marylhurst friends. After a sunset dessert you’ll walk away inspired by the beauty and refreshment that comes from an unparalleled dining experience.

Pony party for 8 kids - ages 3-7
Party for 8 children- includes venue in Sandy with covered gazebo. Host will provide a pony for kids under 60lbs to ride (ages 3-7) and photo opportunities! Winner of party is responsible for bringing their own food and decorations. The party can be up to three hours between the hours of 10 AM and 7 PM. Prefer picnic blanket style seating but host does have a small picnic table that can accommodate 6-8 small children. Host will clean up after the party!
I do have children’s horseback riding helmets available for use, but they are able to bring their own if they want to.
I also have a water dispenser so they can get freshwater to drink from the dispenser as well.
Available for children 3-7 years old
There are no indoor facilities so the party is weather dependent, with the exception of a restroom. The party date will be weather permitting, and I do require a three week advance notice with the preferred party date and then a back up date in the event we are rained out. The party voucher will expire Sept 15, 2026.
Parents will have to sign an injury release waiver form. If any kids will be coming without a parent or guardian, then I will need to be notified in advance to connect with the actual parent or guardian to have the proper release forms filled out.

Parent and Child Baking Class with Chef Tara
Parent and child baking class. Each parent and child will learn to make a no-knead dough to take home and bake and a batch of cookies. Chef Tara will teach you all the tricks of the trade and help avoid the common pitfalls that occur when baking with kids.
